How to resize your images for digital competitions using Picasa

1 .Open Picasa

2. Select your Image by double clicking on one of the thumbnails

3. For resizing:

Click File menu (top left hand side of your window)
Highlight Export to Folder.

A window should open in the middle of your screen like below


 

Click “Browse” A third window should appear, highlight “Desktop” then OK

4. Leave the Name of Exported Folder as it appears

Resize to: For a landscape image move the slider to 1400; for portrait (upright) images click on number box and enter 1050

Leave image quality to automatic then click OK

Your new image is now in the folder on your desktop re-sized to a maximum of 1400 pixels wide or 1050 high.

5. To Save - You can now re-open the image into Picasa and ‘Save As’ into your chosen folder giving it the correct name for competition

e.g. N101101 - N for novice, then the number you were given on joining - example 1011

and then 01 or 02 or 03, for your first, second and third images.

Add the title of the image after the code part, for example - N101103 Go for Goal

Click 'Save'
