Based in Scotland, Eastwood Photographic Society is a camera club for all who are interested in photography irrespective of skill level and camera equipment used. At present we have a mixed membership of 70 ranging in age from young to old.
The club meet between September and April each year and during that period we have guest speakers, tutorial evenings, workshops, outings and competitions. The dates of these activities are laid out in our calendar. New Syllabus TBC .
Within the club we also offer a mentoring scheme to those who would like some assistance or tuition regardless of their ability. To help improve our skills we hold internal competitions where trophies are given to the winners. Members are encouraged to enter these competitions but there is no requirement to do so.
The membership is split into two divisions. In this format the two photographers who achieve the highest points total across the various competitions in league two within the club year are promoted to league one- whilst the two photographers of league one who receive the lowest points over the same period are relegated to league two.
As we are affiliated to photographic associations such as the GDPU and SPF the entries from these internal competitions will then be submitted to a panel who choose the best photographs to go on to national and international exhibitions.
The club meet on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm in Albertslund Hall, Westacres Road, Newton Mearns, Glasgow G77 6WW.
New members are always made welcome at any time. If you are interested please feel free to make contact for more information.
