John Duffy Print Portfolio 10 November 2016
The annual John Duffy Print Portfolio organised by the GDPU arrived at our club on 10th November. Each club is allowed to enter up to four prints and this year’s judge was Mike Cruise from Paisley. The top fifty prints are included in the portfolio. The evening was led by Mary Robertson and Colin McLatchie. This time those present were given a list of all the entries and, during the first half, were asked to record their score for each print. Mike Cruise’s comments were read out. After tea we were told the judge’s scores and these were were compared with our own. Some similar to his, others not. but what do we know about judging!!!
It was a very interesting way of presenting the portfolio with good participation by members. Our club got three out of the four prints entered accepted. They were “Labourers of the land” by Peter De Marco, “Looking for the gap” by Ross Eaglesham and “Greater Spotted Woodpecker” by Ken Wilkie
Report by Jim McCreery many thanks
